Sharing a patient forum beyond the room
We helped shape the questions for the Foundation’s Patient and Advocate Education Forum, then turned the footage into videos and a race sizzle reel it could share far beyond the event.
Foundation for Women’s Cancer

The challenge
The Foundation for Women’s Cancer brings patients and advocates together in Washington, DC, for its Patient and Advocate Education Forum. Experts cover the topics that shape life during and after treatment, from mental health and nutrition to sexual health and side effect management. The Foundation wanted videos that would carry those takeaways to people who couldn’t attend and help promote the next forum. Its videographer would film the forum and the Foundation’s Move4Her race.
Our approach
We started with the people the videos were for. Using the speakers’ presentations, we drafted conversation starters for each topic so the Foundation could review them with its physician committee before the forum.
When the footage came in, we edited the forum recordings into 10 videos. We shared the first one early so the team could weigh in on tone and pacing before we finished the rest. The team then chose three to run as vertical Reels and YouTube Shorts, and we gave each one its own intro and outro around the Q&A.
The race footage was mostly b-roll, with only a few brief survivor interviews, so we shaped it into a sizzle reel that captures the energy of the day. We also edited the survivor tent interviews, filmed in front of the ribbon wall, as individual stories.
Results
With the race sizzle reel and individual survivor stories, the Foundation has a set of videos built around real voices that it can use to promote future forums.
