Donor engagement and grant support for a youth chorus
When a recurring grant ended, we helped the Chorus make its case to donors and funders with more clarity and heart.
San Fernando Valley Youth Chorus

The challenge
The Chorus lost a recurring grant and needed to lean more on individual donors and institutional funders. It had to do that in an uncertain economy, with a small team and limited marketing resources.
Our approach
We built donors into the Chorus’s marketing plan as one of three core audiences and ran its GivingTuesday campaign. We also created supporting materials for foundation grant applications, including a two-page case for the Skechers Foundation.
Each month, we report to the board, pairing what’s working in marketing with clear next steps for registration, donation, and referral.
The work

“Sur-Ryl Marketing has helped refine our branding, supported our donor engagement and grant efforts, and provided multimedia marketing support that has strengthened how we connect with our families, audiences, and community.”
Kyla Williams, Executive Director, San Fernando Valley Youth Chorus
